Essential Carpentry Workshop
3-day hands-on workshop May 7th, 14th, 21st - 2022
Service Description
For many of us there is no greater way to learn than by doing. In this workshop we will be building this outdoor shower designed by TLC using many local and reclaimed building materials. This is a small group intensive for 4 lucky students offered in Gibsons BC. Beginner friendly class, come as you are, and expect to level up! You will learn a range of skills in this class that are applicable to lots of new building and retrofit projects In addition to working with locally milled cedar you will learn to work with metals, plastics and glass and get a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different materials and how you might consider integrating them in your own projects. You will learn safe and effective ways to use many power and hand tools (e.g. saws, drills, drivers, sanders, levels etc.) and go home with knowledge on using the right tool for the right job. You will gain practical knowledge on materials, money saving tips and sustainability insights. Cost: $500/student* All materials and tools included. Small group classes are an excellent way to get lots of one-on-one time using tools, opportunities throughout for Q&A, and an environment to have fun and build community. They are also an excellent value. In this case a partial subsidy is being offered to students by the client who will be hosting this workshop. You will receive 18 hours of instruction for less than ¼ the cost of 1-on-1 TLC instructional services. Please contact Alicia LaValle at alicia@toolbeltlearningco.com or 604-363-8785 for more details and to register.
